Issue #116: Jamo's Jams and Gigs 1/21/10

JAMO’S JAMS & GIGS for 1/21/201, issue #116!! I’m still looking for your January & February gigs, folks!

If you’re interested in helping with the situation in Haiti as well as listening to some great live music, see the benefit info below listed for February 2. I knew that Big Nancy would jump in to help..…it’s her nature.

I very rudely neglected to thank Don Cafferty last week. He was the guy with the very cool video equipment at the Franky & Johnny’s gig. You can see him in several of the pics on my Myspace site. Don takes some excellent quality video and audio, live, and sends it to me. He’ll do the same for your band, too. Let me know if you need something for your press packs, and I’ll get you in touch with Don. He does this for many bands, and you’ll have a great vid to show promoters, etc.

Man, oh man. Nasty Ned and the Chili Dogs did it again at KC’s this last Saturday. They kicked butt big time, just like always. Best front man I’ve seen, bar none. Our friend Lenny Depiano worked with NJ's #1 Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute Band the Crawdaddys after the Dogs opened up - Skynyrd's former drummer and Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Artimus Pyle was on drums, and the place rocked. Jimmy Ferrante did the sound, and as Ned said, it was “the best sound I’ve ever heard on stage”!! See the end of this email for details on Jimmy.

Still pictures of the last JAMO gig at Franky & Johnny’s are up on my website at www.myspace.com/jamodrummer. Just click on “view my pics” and go to the album. Enjoy! We’ll be doing it again on February 13th for Franky & Johnny’s annual Mardi Gras (and early Valentine’s Day) celebration!

Finally got to the Todd Wolfe jam at Mezza Luna- great room, great band. Get there if you can! Thanks, Todd.

If you know anyone who might like to receive this email, send me their email address.

Hey – Bands take note: if you need a live recording of your band, or if you need a sound system for gigs or parties at venues big or small, give JIM FERRANTE a call. You can even rent a backline for special events. (Drums, PAs, amps, etc.) Jimmy is the owner of Stirling Audio Services, (and a great guitar player too). He has a 32+++ track Mac/Cubase 5 recording setup, and he can get it done for you. Demos, CD’s, whatever. He also has a warehouse full of audio systems ready for you to use anywhere – he’ll rent you a backline, or he’ll set up lights, sound, have a guy there to mix on the fly, and record it too!!! OR, anything in between. Contact him at 732-417-1001, or jimmy@stirlingaudioservices.com, www.stirlingaudioservices.com. Trust me on this one – he’ll get it done for you whether you’re in a small bar or a huge arena. I use him all the time!!! (Come to Franky & Johnny’s to see/hear what I mean.) (Obviously he can make ANYONE sound good!!!)

For those of you who are on the left side of the river, Barry Hay is still turning out the listings for live gigs, etc out there. Go to www.hayblue.com to find out anything you could want to know about who/what/where in the Lehigh Valley! (I know that Barry also does this on his own time, and has the same intentions that I do, so don’t hesitate.)

Here’s my schedule for the next few months; there are some changes here, and there are more to come – watch this space for new band names!!!!
