International Blues performer Sonny Rhodes will be celebrating his 70th birthday on a brief junket through the NY/NJ area. The Sonny Rhodes Band will be at Gambino’s Inn W/ Bob White and the White Boys, 284 Remsen Avenue , New Brunswick , New Jersey , 732 249 3337. Showtime 9 PM, Admission $10 Preferred seating with dinner reservations. RESERVATIONS RECOMMENDED! The band will include area musicians David Ambrosy (the VooDudes), Mike Flynn (Nightrain), and “Big Nancy ” Swarbrick (Supreme Court). Gambino’s will host a birthday PARTY AND JAM SESSION that night. Sonny Rhodes will headline the program and local favorites Bob White and the White Boys are reforming to open the show. Accomplished area musicians are welcomed to bring their axes and join in the festivities after the two bands have performed their sets. Organized by Swarbrick and Ambrosy, the party at Gambino's will emphasize Sonny reconnecting with old friends, celebrating his birthday in a relaxed intimate setting, and allowing as many fans and musicians as possible to gain access to this legendary blues man. Dinner reservations are strongly suggested.
