Welcome to JAMO’S JAMS & GIGS for 12/22/10, issue #170.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Yes, I said CHRISTMAS. Deal with it.
New CD from the Congregation (PR Team Edit: no pun intended) below, as well as new gigs for New Year’s Eve and January. Welcome to all of the new readers! This thing seems to be catching on. Just so you know, this email is read by fans & players in England , Italy , Brazil , Canada , South Africa , Indonesia , Denmark , Mexico , and Jamaica . Even some people from Jersey and PA read it!
I saw Arlene the other night while at the Nancy Coletti Trio show at the Bethlehem Hotel. She was buying Nancy ’s CDs for Christmas presents. GREAT IDEA! The CD’s listed below are all inexpensive for gifts, and they support our friends. [no fishnets required] Info on how to get CDs from Chip Mergott, Gar Francis/the Easy Outs, Nancy Coletti, Ed Pampani/A Pleasant Symmetry, Nasty Ned, and the Congregation is listed in section #4 below.
I’m thinking of putting out a special issue with some of the comments that so many of you have sent to me about clubs & pay. NO names, so don’t worry about anything….. Watch this space.
Attention all you Island Park Alumni!!! JAMO returns!!!! See Fri, January 21 below. Between the Tuesday night jams and the weekend bands, this place just might be a home for us… but not if you don’t come!!! The Tuesday night jam here has turned out to be a great thing, so maybe we can work it out for Friday night too.
If you have any trouble reading this thing, just go to http://jamogigcentral.blogspot.com/, and it will all be there. Marisa Chiara does that for me, and I really appreciate her help. You can print it out for yer own use, etc. If you meet her at one of our gigs, be sure to say Hi… and shiver her timbers.
Send me your December, NYE, and January gigs, folks. Who’s where on NYE? I’m at the Stanhope House.

"13 Reasons to buy a CD: Rise and join the Faithful in welcoming the release of 13 reasons, the debut album from North Jersey blues band, The Congregation. With a confluence of talent as diverse their individual influences, this gathering of musicians delivers a listening experience forged from country, folk, punk, and rock unlike any other. The result is a beautifully twisted blues worthy of believing in. The smoky velvet vocals have a cowboy’s swagger and the biting rhythms take hold of your grateful flesh and won’t let go. The brilliant guitar, organic bass , and lyrical prowess swirl together into a wicked brew that tempts and sates the most discriminating musical appetite. " — A. Young, The Beat
